Bueel

Sobriquet: The Trickster, The one who dares
Portfolio:
Domains: Air, Chaos, Knowledge, Madness
Patron of: Seers, prophets, the insane
Favored Element: Air
Associated Planet/star: Comets
Pantheon relations: Huiri (lover)
Description: Bueel is venerated even less frequently than Huiri. In fact, many avoid speaking his name unless necessary. Most elves prefer to remain sane and fear that the sane who call upon him run the risk of joining the ranks of Bueel’s chosen. Thus, those who feel the need for Bueel’s favor typically do so via a medium such as a prophet or seer. As the patron of the insane, the non-violent, mentally ill amongst Alfaen society can often find a comfortable life as a chosen of Bueel. Those with mental illnesses are expected to venerate Bueel, but are also expected to cease veneration once his influence is no longer required.
Bueel has not been recorded as having the same visage twice, and virtually none except for prophets or the insane would admit to having seen him. He is rarely depicted in artwork for the same reasons he is rarely spoken of. In rare instances when Bueel must be depicted, he is typically shown as a comet. Visible comets in the sky are seen by elves as an omen of strange times, when the insane may act normal and the sane may experience visions and prophecies.
Bueel is always depicted as male; elven scholars do not know why.
